Fairly recently, someone came to my office as a Morristown Family Immigration Lawyer with a very interesting question: her mother and father were not married and her father’s name was not on her birth certificate. He was a citizen and he wanted to sponsor her.  Is it possible?  It definitely is. If you have a father who’s a citizen or a green card holder, even though their name is not on your birth certificate and your parents are not married, it is possible for your father to sponsor you. You may need to take a DNA test to show that your father is your biological father.
